Coronary Heart Disease Risk Factors in the Determination of Nursing Students

OBJECTIVE: This study was designed to determine risk factors for coronary heart disease in nursing students.
METHODS: This descriptive research, the university's nursing school in Istanbul in the 2009-2010 academic year nursing and health sciences faculty, convened in February. With CHD risk factors were collected with a questionnaire consisting of 26 questions. With SPSS 10.0 program, identifying features points, average and percentage, non-parametric values were evaluated with chi-square test.
RESULTS: The mean age and bady max index of the participants was 20.91±2.09 and 21.57±3.33. Of them, 81% were girl and 19% were men.53.6% of the participants families of them hypertension, 30.1% were coronary heart disease (CHD). More of the girls knew the value of cholesterol (p=.005), more fish (p=.03) and fruit and vegetable consumption (p=.002), while male students consumed more red meat (p=.02) were determined. Girl students' stress levels were higher (p=.008).
CONCLUSION: Nursing students were examined risk factors for CHD, the vast majority of hypertension in the family, female students than male students were more stressful and more nutrition.

Hemşirelik Öğrencilerinde Koroner Kalp Hastalığı Risk Faktörlerinin Belirlenmesi

AMAÇ: Bu çalışma, hemşirelik öğrencilerinde koroner kalp hastalığı risk faktörlerini belirlemek amacıyla planlandı.
YÖNTEMLER: Tanımlayıcı tipteki bu araştırma, İstanbul’da bir üniversitenin hemşirelik yüksekokulu ve sağlık bilimleri fakültesi hemşirelik bölümünde 2009-2010 eğitim öğretim yılı, Şubat ayında toplandı. Koroner kalp hastalığı (KKH) risk faktörlerini içeren 26 sorudan oluşan bir anket formuyla toplandı. Veriler SPSS 10.0 programı ile, tanımlayıcı özellikler sayı, ortalama ve yüzdelik, parametrik olmayan değerler ki-kare testi ile değerlendirildi.
BULGULAR: Yaş ortalaması 20.91±2.09 olan olguların %81’i kız öğrenci, %19’u erkek öğrenci, beden kitle indeksi ortalaması 21.57±3.33’ tür. Olguların %53.6’sının ailelerinde hipertansiyon, %30.1’inde KKH olduğu saptandı. Kız öğrencilerin kolesterol değerini daha fazla bildiği (p=.005), daha fazla balık (p=.03) ve meyve sebze tükettiği (p=.002), erkek öğrencilerin ise kırmızı eti daha çok tükettiği (p=.02) belirlendi. Kız öğrencilerin stres düzeylerinin daha yüksek olduğu saptandı (p=.008).
SONUÇ: Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin KKH risk faktörleri incelendiğinde, büyük çoğunluğun ailesinde hipertansiyon olduğu, kız öğrencilerin erkek öğrencilerden daha stresli ve beslenmelerinin daha iyi olduğu belirlendi.
