2. | Congenital Heart Disease and Nursing Care in Adults Cansu Polat, Nuray Enç doi: 10.5543/khd.2015.013 Pages 138 - 150 Congenital heart disease occurs in 8 infants per 1000 live births. Nowadays a large portion of children with congenital heart disease can reach in adulthood due to developing operative techniques, postoperative care and medical treatment. In care of adults with congenital disease; the causes of disease, clinical symptos and signs, existing defect potential impacts and the impact of patient’s life style are known by nurses is important for planning and evaluating the care which is implemented to the patient. In this review, in adults pathophysiology of congenital heart disease, clinical manifestations, diagnosis / treatment and nursing diagnosis North American Nursing Diagnosis Association-(North American Nursing Diagnosis Association-NANDA), Nursing Interventions Classification (Nursing Intervention Classification NIC), Nursing Results Classification (Nursing Outcomes Classification-NOC) is dealt with taxonomic structures. |

4. | Infective endocarditis: what to know in care management Kadriye Sayın Kasar, Serap Özer, Fisun Şenuzun Aykar doi: 10.5543/khd.2015.015 Pages 160 - 169 Despite infective endocarditis can be treated with developing medical and surgical strategies in today, continues to be a life-threatening illness. Medical treatment strategies is the main treatment method in IE, but surgery treatment may be required in about half of cases when was occured the conditions such as heart failure, valvular damage, abscess, infection, large vegetations and systemic embolism. The implementation of an effective treatment of the disease management process as the process of care must be effectived. In care management process; nurses must implement the necessary initiatives by planning and provide training of individuals and families for the purpose of to improve of cardiac functions, to perform of daily life activities without fatigue and to prevent of complications. The purpose of this article; necessitate updated informations is provide in order to plan, implement and evaluate of care needed of infective endocarditis population. |

5. | Nursing Care According To Functional Health Patterns in Infective Endocarditis: A Carse Report Hilal Uysal, Sevilay Aydın doi: 10.5543/khd.2015.016 Pages 170 - 182 Infective endocarditis is usually due to gram positive develops from coke. Directly exposed to the blood flow, cardiovascular structures containing foreign bodies inside the heart develops as a result of endovascular microbial infection. The nursing care at Infective endocarditis is focused on education about the disease of the patient and family, symptoms, treatment, complications. This case with chills, high fever, malaise and weight loss, was admitted to the emergency. Patient were hospitalized with the diagnosis of infective endocarditis. Patients were assessed by Nursing Care Model of Gordon's Functional Health Patterns, between November 27 and December11, 2014. Ineffective individual health maintenance, the risk of falling, infection, imbalanced nutrition: less than body requirements, impaired in the skin integrity, bleeding, electrolyte imbalance, impaired in the urinary excretion, activity intolerance etc.” nursing diagnosis were determined, to improve and/or to eliminate the detected problems was given nursing care to patient and the results were evaluated. |
6. | An Example Of Watson’s Theory Of Human Caring Model: Case Of Heart Failure Berna Nilgün Özgürsoy Uran, Serap Özer, Yasemin Yıldırım doi: 10.5543/khd.2015.017 Pages 183 - 198 By using nursing theories and models systematically, it consists of a structure and discipline in care practices. It also eliminates the existing complexity, and care practices can be continued uninterruptedly. Watson’s Theory of Human Caring is a model that requires knowing the behavior including the mind, body and spirit's harmony, individual's strength and weakness and reactions. The main stages of the model are caritas processes, transpersonal caring and the caring moment. In this article, the nursing process has been established at 53-year-old female patient with heart failure using Theory of Human Caring. Also this model has shown to be used easily in the care practices in terms of being very good reflecting of the essence of the nursing profession and being people-oriented. |
