2. | Cardiac nursing in Turkey and in the world Simge Kalav, Zeynep Canlı Özer doi: 10.5543/khd.2016.001 Pages 2 - 14 The assembly, held about the development of cardiac nursing includes the definition of cardiac nursing and history, examples of the configuration of cardiac nursing in the world, cardiac nursing education abroad and cardiac nursing certification, the development of cardiac nursing in our country. Cardiac nursing has become a specialized field in the last 50 years. Cardiac nurses are specialized to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care for patients with acute and chronic heart maladies. They work to promote optimal cardiovascular health by applications that involve health counseling, screening, and stress tests, as well as disease prevention and management strategies. It can be said that the various associations, organizations, laws and regulations in Europe and America have contributed significantly to the development of cardiac nursing. In our country, a work group has been formed in this field within the Turkish Society of Cardiology. This group organizes conferences, training programmes and courses. Also, it carries out studies intended for creating a certification programme. |
3. | Coronary Artery Disease and Occupational Life Sıdıka Oğuz, Gülşah Çamcı doi: 10.5543/khd.2016.002 Pages 15 - 23 Individuals with coronary artery disease may be created difficulties in disease management for reasons such as job description, support from the workplace, study protocols in the workplace, working hours and business trips. In studies; shift work, occupational stres, much or little work hours has been found increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease. Therefore; every individual can reduce the risk of coronary artery disease after acquisition of healthy behaviors against the psychosocial stress as well as in psychosocial factors such as low socio-economic status, lack of social support, occupational stress, depression in family life, anxiety, hostility and D type personality. When nurses provide trainning for comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation to individuals with coronary artery disease, individuals can be coped with occupational stress better and lead to adaptation of work life. In addition, it is important that business owners or managers must support to employees in terms of the reduction of occupational stres, correction of working hours, positive health behaviors and social support. |
4. | Nursing Approach Based on Roy Adaptation Model After Myocardial Infarction Selma Turan Kavradım, Zeynep Canlı Özer doi: 10.5543/khd.2016.003 Pages 24 - 39 In this review, a literature search results was prepared with the aim of presenting important information to the health professionals about relations with Myocardial infarction-Roy Adaptation Model for ensuring adaptation in individuals after myocardial infarction. Roy Adaptation Model is the most widely used for nursing research, practice and education field, which is one of the constantly tested and developed model. According to the Roy Adaptation Model purpose of nursing, to bring individuals an excellent level of adaptation and to create effective adaptation behavior for physiological, self-concept, role function and interdependence area using the regulatory and cognitive-emotional coping mechanisms by individuals against environmental stimuli. In this regard, in this review, Roy Adaptation Model which the main concept is adaptation, it is thought to be effective using nursing care planning and application of myocardial infarction in patients, reducing complications after discharge of patients and ensuring adaptation with lifestyle changes. |
5. | Use of Complementary and Alternative Medicine by Hypertensive Patients: A Literature Review Duygu Kes, Feray Gökdoğan, Döndü Tuna doi: 10.5543/khd.2016.004 Pages 40 - 55 In this literature review, we aimed to determine the prevalence, frequency of useage and types of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) practices and characteristics in hypertensive patients who were participated in research studies in the world and in Turkey.We have reached the 10 international articles and six national articles which were published from 2004-2014 on Gazi University library electronic data base. Total number of subjects was 62,326 hypertensive patients. Frequency of CAM use was between 12,8 %-85,7 %. Mostly used type of CAM was herbal preparations and factors affecting use of CAM was age,sex, family type,education level, type of CAM, duration of CAM,occupation,residing,belief that hypertention is preventable, family history of hypertension, belief in supernational causes of hypertention and medication affordability.The another methods are prayer for self and cupping.The main sources of information about CAM for patients were family members,friend,internet, televison programe, other patients in the clinic. In studies those indicatied the reasons for using CAM; medication unaffodability, curing disease,slown down progress of disease, relief of symptoms, reducing medication side effects.Patiens dont give an information about used of CAM to their nurses and doctors. |
6. | Important Determinants in Cardiovascular Disease: Oral Health Seçil Beyece İncazlı, Serap Özer doi: 10.5543/khd.2016.005 Pages 55 - 65 Studies in recent years show that oral health is an important determinant of cardiovascular diseases. Having poor oral hygiene, increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. Protecting and maintaining the oral health of patients, the achievement of the habit to non-habits, counseling and educating individuals are in the responsibility of nurses. Nurses to fulfill their responsibilities are dependent on knowledge and skills of oral health assessment, use of appropriate assessment tools and perform of oral care practices. In this study, the importance of oral health in cardiovascular diseases was emphasized. First, the systemic effects of oral health was discussed, then the relation of oral health and cardiovascular disease was mentioned in detail and basic treatments were indicated. |
